Choose Instant yeast, Active dry yeast or Fresh yeast at the top of a bread recipe to bake without a starter. For the sourdough version, yes. If you’re starting from flour and water, follow the beginner starter guide first. The app’s feeding calculator is for maintaining an established starter.
No. Kitchen temperature, dough temperature, flour and starter strength all affect fermentation. Crumb gives you a plan and checkpoints. Move to the next stage when the dough is ready.
No. Use Crumb in your browser or add it to your Home Screen. You can try the app before installing anything.
Crumb is free to use without a login. The website and app are ready to explore; recipe testing and real-phone installation checks are still part of development.
